In another twist to the recent revelations relating to planet Earth, the conglomerate Mining Organics has selectively released the results of its decade-long study on the mass extinction happening on Earth.

Dr. Prof. Klevens, the head of the team of scientists believes that their tests clearly indicate that the current spurt in the intelligence of H. Sapiens has nothing to do with the Intelligence Acceleration Program which has been getting the wrong end of the stick recently. “We see no sign of the genetic changes purportedly made by the IAP in the current population”, he said. Prof. Klevens further added that given the findings, there is no need to proceed with any “corrective” actions.

The findings suggest that the genetic modifications made to improve brain function also resulted in fertility issues and hence the modifications did not get passed on to future generations.
Funnily, the Department for Passive Preservation of Other Worlds (DPPOW), which has never seen eye to eye with Mining Organics, seems to have found an unlikely ally in supporting the non-interference policy. However, any such melding of minds is bound to be short-lived as the DPPOW has already started demanding to know the details of how the study has been conducted.

cartoon-drawings-abducted-by-alien-21371910-1While Mining Organics has long held the mining rights in Sector S, current policies prohibit them from most activities on Class 4 planets such as Earth. So it will be interesting to see how they acquired the data they needed for their tests without breaking any of the existing laws. If there has been any abducting or probing of H. Sapiens as part of the data gathering exercise, there will likely be hell to pay for Mining Organics and for Dr. Klevens personally.

The timing of the release of these results suggest that Mining Organics is desperate to restart their mining activities on Earth which has been stalled since stardate 74257.12 due to the emergence of precursors of intelligence on Earth. If the mass extinctions continue unabated, or a dirty nuclear war erupts between different factions, then a valuable source of hydrocarbons critical to our future will be lost for ever.

Mining Organic’s recent petition to reclassify Earth into a class 5 planet, in view of the deteriorating situation on Earth, has also not garnered sufficient support from within the current regime.

The senate sessions beginning shortly are likely to take up the Earth issues on high priority.  More clarity expected at that time.
